From today, all retailers on QuidCompare are tracking at 100% cashback.
That is, every penny that tracks into our account from your transaction, we give to you as cashback. All retailers on QuidsInUK that are available on QuidCompare are running at 100% cashback, as well as a selected few that aren't.
It doesn't matter where you click from (QuidsInUK or QuidCompare), your transaction will still track at the new rates.
This change has been in testing for nearly 3 months, so if you have purchased anything through QuidCompare (directly) in that time, you will have already benefitted from the increased cashback amounts.
So what does this change mean to you?
The simple answer is more cashback to you. For instance:

Boden was 2.5% cashback, Now 5%
Austin Reed was 3% cashback, Now 8%
Jeans Direct was 11% cashback, Now 22%

This is not a promotional offer, it is a permanent change to QuidsInUK and QuidCompare, and just before Christmas too: How's that for timing?
There are well over 500 retailers on QuidCompare, many of which are not featured on QuidsInUK, so there is bound to be something for you.

Any transaction made with any of these retailers before the 1st December 2008 that has not tracked at the new rate cannot be altered to the new rate. Mysupermarket.co.uk is not included in this change at this time.

QuidCompare - Overhauled
We've had a few complaints that Quidcompare, QuidsInUK's Cashback Price Comparison Engine was not running quite as smoothly as it should have been. We knew it was fairly slow, we knew it wasn't quite as accurate as it could have been, but hey, we were the first and only Price Comparison site with cashback in the UK (there was only 1 other in the WORLD, and that was in Canada!).
That's not to say we haven't been listening or haven't been messing around with things speeding it all up and trying to make Price Comparisons alittle more accurate.
QuidCompare is now roughly 9 times faster, has had ALL reported bugs ironed out, is now more accurate with it's price comparisons (only just, but we're working on it) and best of all, QuidCompare has had abit of a make over! Take a look at what we've done. Here's a good example: Play.Com
Cool huh? Well, I think so!
Of course, QuidCompare is no longer the only Cashback Price Comparison Search Engine in the UK, everyone's at it. But lest we forget that QuidCompare is the Egg and not the Chicken, it is the Horse and not the Cart, It was the leader and not the follower.
We haven't finished yet. There are still a few design adjustments to make, a few streamlines we could implement, and a plan to unleash on the unsuspecting memberbase of QuidsInUK (muahahah..!) Obviously, our beloved, wise and unfalteringly intelligent members will be the first to know when we're done, I just thought I'd give you all a little heads up on what's happening......

QuidsInUK security updates
Our members know that we take security VERY seriously at QuidsInUK.
You need to know your details and privacy are protected.
This was part of the ethos that QuidsInUK was built upon. Protect everything from the start so we can all rest peacefully and concentrate on what we do best: bringing you the best deals in the UK's corner of the Internet.
One thing we didn't bank on was non-UK members.
Our Terms of Service quite clearly state that we only accept UK members. The reason for this is that most of our retailers will only accept UK traffic.
In the beginning, all was well, until we started offering 'anonymous' payment options such as Paypal. This opened the door for the whole world to gate crash our party.
Normally, we would welcome anyone. Infact, we have many other websites (Harry Potter) that actively encourage everyone, where-ever they are to come and join the fun.
Unfortunately, QuidsInUK cannot accept non-UK residents, hence the 'check box' on the registration page "I confirm that I am a UK resident over the age of 18 and have read the Terms of Service"

And so, it is with great regret that we have had to implement further security proceedures.
At all points during registration, our new system checks where you are in the world with an accuracy of 98%.
If you are not in the UK when you sign up, or there is any doubt as to where you are, our system changes the registration procedure and your registration becomes an application. All your registration details are logged alongside all Geographic data we can collect from your IP address.
Applications are shown to us in real time, so if you get flagged, we can deal with it within minutes. Obviously, if your applying at midnight GMT, there may be a delay.
Alongside this new bespoke GeoLocation system, we have implemented another check during payment runs. If a member decides they wish to be paid by any 'anonymous' payment method, then they will be required to add their Landline telephone number in their payment details. This number is encrypted to the same standard of security as all our payment detials using the bespoke 'QuidSecure' system.
Should a members Geographic location be in any doubt, we will attempt to match the details given with the phone number. If this isn't possible, we will make the call. But only once, once a member is verified, it's plain sailing.
We really regret having to implement such extreme measures, however our prioities are simple and have never changed:
Protect our genuine members privacy, Protect our Retailers from fraud, Protect ourselves from every possible problem.
We enjoy a good relationship with all our retailers and networks, hopefully these new measures can only increase their confidence in us.

QuidCompare Price Comparison with cashback
It seems fitting that the first post on the QuidsInUK blog is to be all about a new feature called QuidCompare.
QuidCompare is a price comparison search engine with a BIG difference. Not only can users search through Millions of products from Britains biggest online retailers, but also members of QuidsInUK can get cashback from everything they purchase.
If a user runs a search for a product or browses through a category, QuidCompare estimates the exact amount of cashback they can expect if they were to buy any of the products displayed.
And that's not all!! Quidcompare also has a discount Voucher code database running alongside it's search engine. So, if a particular retailer is is offering a discount across the range, or just for a few products, QuidCompare will display the coupon code along with the product description.
As far as we are aware, this is a first. Never before has cashback, price comparison and a voucher code database been mixed together. Not that we're blowing our own trumpet or anything.
